Must Read (In Preparation For INTL Women's Day): Game Changers, The Unsung Heroines of Sports History

This book changed my life.

Game Changers: The Unsung Heroines of Sports History is a book filled with inspiring stories of the female athletes you have never heard of, but who will now become your new role models, inspirations and heroes.

When you turn the first few pages of Molly Schiot's book you will see the inscription read, "This book is dedicated to all the women who were forever told no." Wow. That still gives me goosebumps when I read it. Every time I pick up this book, I am reminded of all the powerful women who came before me. Who fought for my right to play a sport at a D1 school. This book tells the stories of the women who fought for Title IX, who broke down stereotypes, who changed the game for us.

If I ever have a daughter, I am going to read her this book before bedtime. I want these stories to inspire her, just as much as they have inspired me. I only acquired this book late last year and  I wished I had it when I was the only girl on my tee-ball team when I was six. Now, all grown-up (kind of), I am more ready than ever to continue the work these women have done and keep working for equality.

With International Women's Day tomorrow, I thought it was important to share something that has so positively impacted and inspired me. If you are not able to get your hands on Game Changers, check out Schoit's website and instagram page, @theunsungheroines
